Annotation

This paper argues that scholars should take as seriously translations aimed at children, such as those of Hans Christian Andersen' fairytales, as traditional, “philological” translations. It advocates to appreciate literature for reading aloud on its own terms and concludes that translations can in fact improve source texts.
