This gendered analysis of the U.S. Healthy People 2010 initiative, focusing on women's medical research, shows that the "multi-causal web" approach to public health does not help to empower marginalized groups as it doesn't take into account sex differences in health advice and it doesn't prioritize economic and political changes which are necessary for marginalized groups.
