Annotation

On the basis of data from a 2001 Ontarian provincial inquiry into the deaths of seven people caused by water contamination, and in particular question-answer sequences involving Ontario's premier, it is argued that cross-examining lawyers' power foremost depends on their ability to compel witnesses to produce type-conforming answers to their controlling and restrictive questions.
