Annotation

This paper, employing data from a German-speaking linguistic enclave with a high degree of homogeneity in background and religious persuasion, established in 1853 in the Western District of Victoria, shows that a language community, notwithstanding its homogeneity, consists of subgroups and individuals, who may respond differently to pressures concerning language and language use.
