This paper examines language transfer in the multilingual mental lexicon from some psycholinguistic perspectives. The study's interlanguage data stem from adult learners with Chinese as their first language, English as their second language and German as their third language, and adult learners with Japanese as their first language, English as their second language and Chinese as their third language.
