This critical discourse analytic study presents a triangulated approach to examine manipulation as discursive interaction, social power abuse and cognitive mind control. This perspective is illustrated by a fragmental analysis of a speech by Prime Minister Tony Blair in the House of Commons, legitimating the UK participation in the US-led war on terrorism against Iraq in 2003.
