Annotation

Using data from listeners from native Cantonese, Japanese, Mandarin, and English backgrounds, evaluating the same foreign-accented English utterances from native Cantonese, Japanese, Polish, and Spanish speakers, this study argues that speech properties are themselves an important factor in defining second language speech perception, even so with listeners from diverse language backgrounds.
