Annotation
The aim of this article is to illustrate the pertinence of the gender perspective – which understands the social relations between men and women as the product of a historical, cultural and social construction – in order to explore the phenomenon of reproduction of the patriarchal ideology through the translation of discursive products other than literature. The approach intends to highlight the role played by so-called neutral discourses and their translation in the transmission of dominant gendered representations in Western culture. This phenomenon will be approached through a specific example of textual scientific discourse, that of public communication of science and from a model of analysis based on the proposals of Critical Discourse Analysis.
