Annotation

The topic of this article concerns the acquisition of the connective role of finite elements in Turkish by monolingual Turkish children and Turkish children growing up as bilinguals in Germany. First, the structural and typological properties of the Turkish finite verbal forms and their connective role are briefly presented. After having discussed the research up to now on the topic of acquisition of the Turkish finite forms, the assumptions of the paper will be formulated, and the data presented of selected mono- and bilingual groups of children, which will be analysed and compared with regard to the connective role of finite forms.
