This paper investigates the development of three Turkish discourse markers (şey: ‘uuhh’, yani: ‘I mean’, işte: ‘y’know’), marking interactional discourse levels in children's and adults' oral Turkish narratives: the frequency and functions of these discourse markers appear to change with age.
