This sociolinguistic study explores the nature of English second language variation use in everyday Malaysian communication. Rather than focusing on miscommunication and linguistic deficiency, the study emphasizes how Malaysian English is employed collaboratively, strategically, contextually and resourcefully to accomplish speakers' varying goals.
