This paper explores how overweight/obesity is framed in in Swedish daily newspapers, during the period 1997–2001, and how this affects public perceptions of overweight/obesity. Overweight appears to be constructed in two ways, i.e. as health problem and as beauty dilemma, leaving the potential reader with different kinds of information and with diverse impressions and solutions.
