Annotation

This study explores secondary school students' attitudinal differences according to gender, with regard to the three target languages, i.e. Cantonese, English and Putonghua, whilst they are repositioning themselves in the new postcolonial Hong Kong sociopolitical context. The more accommodating female attitudes towards other languages, makes it more likely that this group will stimulate a higher degree of Hong Kong multilingualism.
