Annotation

This study explores young bilingual primary school pupils' reading strategies in multicultural Singapore, using Biggs (1993) Student Approaches to Learning framework. The results show that children's reading competence is positively affected by the use of deep level learning strategies, directing pupils' attention towards the reading material's intentional content.
