Annotation

Drawing on data regarding ‘unofficial’ and ‘official’ literacy activities from 10 and 11-year-old pupils in two British primary schools, this study argues that the division between ‘vernacular (home)’ and ‘schooled’ literacy is not as well-defined as sometimes believed.
