This article argues that it is possible to develop more precise quantitative bilingual speech profiles, capturing the intuition that different data sets demonstrate varying codeswitching features, but that some conceptual and methodological issues still need further investigation. The analyzed data sets comprise Welsh–English, Tsou–Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese–Mandarin Chinese bilingual data.
