Annotation
This paper sketches in what sociopolitical context educational rights were provided for Francophone minorities outside Quebec. It also offers a conceptual framework which distinguishes between French immersion and French schooling. The latter is considered as a cultural autonomy model, generating cultural survival and ethnolinguistic vitality.
