This paper presents a wide comparative overview of language pluralism in four countries, including Finland. It deals with historical foundations of language pluralism, social structural dimensions, intergroup attitudinal studies, constitutional guarantees and common laws on language use or language rights, and resource allocation among diverse language groups.
