Annotation

This study on whether verbs in figurative and literal language activate varying kinds of associations, provides evidence against the Configuration Hypothesis. It is argued that literal verb meaning is fundamental in both figurative and literal language and a model of idiom recognition is prensented that integrates the study's results.
