Drawing on Scollon and Scollon's (2001) notion of Discourse System and Norris' (2004) Multimodal Interaction Analysis, this paper explores the micropolitics of Hispanic/Latino Americans in Greater Washington DC's explicit simultaneous personal national and ethnicity identity construction as a means of elucidating a multimodal framework.
