Annotation
Drawing on a critical interactional sociolinguistic approach, this paper argues that the interculturality contruction via vocative use in a multicultural American-Japanese graduate university student group in the U.S. adds to the generation of an interculturality of subordination and artificial intimacy, restricting American members' possibilities to learn from their Japanese fellow students.
