Annotation

This paper deals with discursive authority construction in ethnographic encounters, in casu in ritual practices among the Eastern Mexican Totonac population. It is shown that interactant roles' mediational character and the co-constructed text's transcendence with regard to the actual event play a pivotal role in discursive authority construction.
