This interdisciplinary study shows how diagnosis is a deeply culturally rooted everyday life communicative practice. The examined diagnoses involve autism, Alzheimer’s disease, speech and language disorders, menopause, and even diagnostic reasoning in recommendation letters and talk on the nature of communication.
