Annotation

This volume uses Universal Grammar methodology and linguistic theory to examine (morpho)syntactic questions of Older Egyptian, Coptic, Sumerian, Akkadian, Biblical Hebrew, Classical Greek, Latin, and Classical Sanskrit. Besides crucial new data and new generalizations regarding basic generative syntax, this volume also offers evidence of the fact that human languages do not "develop" analogous to human civilization.
