Annotation

This Chinese linguistic study discusses the grammar of the Chinese Xiang dialect groups, spoken in Hunan, from a synchronic and diachronic viewpoint. It is found that these grammatical constructions frequently offer a bridge that connects northern and southern Chinese, or Modern and more ancient Chinese.
