Annotation
This diachronic and synchronic comparative study discusses the concepts of tense, aspect and mood in the different Tibetan language varieties. West Tibetan has completely grammaticalized the absolute tense concept. Special emphasis on the pragmatic or metaphorical use of Tibetan present tense constructions generates a typology of narrative conventions.
