The present analyses provide a broad view on reduplication, across theories, specializations and interests. The examined topics include formal and functional perspectives, semantics, typological characteristics, general grammatical and cognitive principles, comparative issues, the role of reduplication in language learning, the learning of reduplicative systems, creoles, pidgins and sign languages. Moreover, a series of language (-family) specific studies are presented, namely on Indo-European, Salish, Turkish, Moroccan and Cairene Arabic, various African languages, languages from India, Chinese, Uto-Aztecan, and Tupi-Guarani etc.
