Annotation

This linguistic and socio-psychological study on functions of youth sociolects, demonstrates that young people's use of youth jargon in verbal interaction with adults doesn't only serve the goal of protecting group integrity against outsiders. There is even proof of attempted imitation by adult outsiders.
