This book uses an autosegmental-metrical intonation model to examine the marking of facets of information structure, focusing on the Given-New dimension. Empirical evidence, based on German, demonstrates that the dichotomy of 'accented' versus 'uncaccented', doesn't match the 'New' versus 'Given' information dichotomy.
