This volume in historical pragmatics explores continuity and change in communication forms from the Middle Ages up to the 20th century. Special attention is paid to developments in different media, such as 17th century English street ballads and German newspapers, German television commentaries since the 1960s, the usage of Spanish on the Internet, and the introduction of modern digital media in academic teaching.
