Combining the precision of dynamic, truth-conditional perspectives with neo-Gricean pragmatic conceptions into the role of speaker's intentions in communication, this study offers the basis of an original theory regarding meaning in discourse, discloses the cognitive basis of discourse interpretation, and puts forward a new foundation for the exploration of discourse processing.
