This Handbook of World Englishes represents the cross-cultural and international contextualization of the English language. It discusses issues including the sociolinguistic settings of English varieties in the inner, outer, and expanding circles of its users; the functional domains in which these English varieties are employed; the place English occupies in language policies and language planning; and discussions on English as cause of language death.
