Building on Chilton's (2004) spatial proximization theory, complemented by temporal and axiological elements, this methodological-critical paper prepares a new cross-disciplinary 'proximization' model of political discourse analysis. The model's validity is tested in a discourse-pragmatic analysis of the American involvement in Iraq, starting from March 2003.
