This paper deals with conditional utterances, inviting conditional perfection as non-monotonic inference or conversational implicatures, distinguishing three types of conditional perfection, correlating with different speech act types, as can be accounted for by the semantics and pragmatics of the conditionals in question. This study thus contributes to some controversies in actual pragmatics, concerning the defeasibility of implicatures and the conditional speech act notion.
