This paper argues that meaning values of words, encoding prior experience contexts, play an equally important role in meaning construction as situational context. It then puts forward the dynamic model of meaning (DMM) as an attempt to attribute the same importance to message and actual situational context in meaning construction and blend the external and internal approaches to context.
