This paper proposes a new approach to expressions famous for introducing conventional implicatures, referred to here as 'View on Content Devices' or VCDs. It uses Perry's Reflexive–Referential framework, recently (2001) introduced in semantics, to explore the nature of VCD's (semantic contribution to sentences), stressing their simplicity.
