This article deals with the image of Gorbachev in a BBC talk-show interview, hosted by Clive Anderson, and mediated by the interpreter Pavel Palazchenko. It shows how Gorbachev and Anderson played with the interactional framing of a ‘talk show interview’ and a ‘news interview’.
