This paper on the transformation of spoken discourse by documentation into 'evidence' in records, explores the discursive identity of a legal ‘objects’ in the course of their treatment by different figures in the legal process. It is argued that textualization doesn't constitute a kind of fixity for discourse, but rather a semantic pivot that allows for different 'argumentation figures' within the legal case's referential framework.
