This paper examines narratives as interactional resource to manage disagreement, in casu in parent-educator meetings. Three conversational phenomena appear to be especially relevant: the way participants' negotiate meaning in the narrative; the primary speaker's providing of evidence in order to obtain mutual comprehension; and the recipient's responding actions. The paper also explores the link between narrative description and sequential and institutional contexts.
