Annotation

Drawing on Robert Merton's role set theory and his corollary concept of sociological ambivalence, this study explores a discursive conflict between a prosecuting attorney and an expert witness in a criminal trial, in which legal identities are contextualized and epistemological claims based on the verbal and visual specifics of legal interaction.
