This paper argues that it is feasible to systematically explain metaphorical\literal poetic ambiguity arising by the interaction of semantic-pragmatic qualities. It also suggests that exploring how the usage of basic semantic-pragmatic language principles in literature engenders poetic effects, provides another than the formalist and cognitivist path in comprehending the poetic.
