Annotation

This study proposes models of shared lexical patterns of U.S. university mission statements across institutional type. From a discursive institutional approach, and linking this evidence to structural discourse patterns, the study further suggests that university mission statements can function as cultural-cognitive pointers, or ideational signs of human agreement, group solidarity and shared beliefs.
