Annotation

To assure the consistent usage of English or Cantonese Chinese as media of instruction, the postcolonial Hong Kong government adopted a highly debated language policy in 1998, compelling most schools to switch from English to Chinese as medium of instruction. This study explores to what extent the new policy has been actually integrated into classroom practices of the surviving schools with 'reformed' English-medium instruction.
