This ethnographic study examines language socialisation among a group of immigrant Moroccan adolescents in Italy. It is demonstrated that socialisation into the new culture engendered a swift shift in language usage and related attitudes towards the involved languages i.e. Italian, Moroccan and Standard Arabic.
