This article discusses the difficulties and challenges of a successful implementation of bilingual education (i.e. a national language and English) in Nigeria. It is demonstrated that students, teachers, parents and administrators all have positive attitudes towards bilingual education and mother tongue use beyond the first three years of primary school.
