Annotation

This study explores how bilingual British-Bangladeshi children, learning their mother tongue, Bengali, in after-school classes, but in general more fluent in English, respond when they are able to employ their full language repertoire within the mainstream curriculum. According to the results, bilingual education would positively influence second and third generation childrens' learning, and apt strategies are proposed for its use in the mainstream classroom.
