The professional delegation of multicultural educators, sponsored by the People to People Ambassador Programs, that visited the People's Republic of China in 2004, saw various parallels to the American educational system, such as the intention of offering equity for minority culture students, especially for those living in poor rural areas, and the clash between modernization and cultural heritage maintenance.
