This paper examines linguistic variation in the discourse of outsourced call centers involving Filipino call-takers and American callers engaged in different kinds of customer service transactions. It explores in particular the statistical co-occurrence of linguistic features and how speakers employ these features and speech patterns based on role, gender, and service transaction type. The research model follows Biber's (1988) quantitative multi-dimensional framework.
