Annotation

This paper explores the Francophone identity of Black Francophone migrants in South African's Cape Town. It is argued that the concept of “Francophonie” must be empirically based and addressed in relation to the setting of the relevant speakers. The post-apartheid South African context attributes it a different meaning from what it has in Francophone states.
