Building on a corpus of French radio phone-in chats, this article examines the resources that participants repeatedly use to jump back to a prior course of action following age-inquiry sequences. Backlinking turns may be explored with regard to their pragmatic effects and with respect to the syntax and the linguistic units used by speakers to obtain these effects.
